THE WAIT FOR APPLE FANS IS OVER.

The faster, more powerful iPhone 3GS recently broke its seal and is now available in South Africa, exclusively from Vodacom. At first glance it looks much like its predecessor, the iPhone, yet the iPhone 3GS is packed with a few extra features that has the local market excited.

The iPhone 3GS dwarfs its older brother in the memory department by doubling up the processing power, which is now available in either 16GB or 32GB. Now you will never run out of space when downloading the wide selection of games and widgets available, or when getting your favourite music from iTunes.

This all-in-one smartphone also comes with a nifty new feature, Digital Compass. This compass will navigate you anywhere – and when you get there you can shoot pictures and videos and edit them. Then upload your pictures and videos to email, send by MMS or post to YouTube.

When it comes to messaging, the iPhone 3GS offers text, multimedia messages, email and the ability to post to YouTube or MobileMe. Cut, Copy and Paste is one of the most useful new features when editing documents and Spotlight Search enables searching for any document, file, photo or media from one place. Other additions to the convenience factor include the ability to record voice memos and the handy landscape keyboard.

If you’re tired of using your thumbs, try the Voice Control feature when calling contacts and accessing your music. Look Mom,
no hands -– and no hands-free device required either.

This is truly remarkable convenience, and improved software from the iPhone 3GS.
